We're partnering with the Forest Preserves of Cook County! 

Kayak on Thatcher Glen Pond at the Trailside Museum with members of the Children's staff! Children 5 and up and their adult can join us on the pond in a tandem kayak! Trips are estimated to be 1-2 hours. Personal flotation devices and equipment are included. We will go over paddling and safety before getting on the water. Registration is required.

This program is for children with an accompanying grownup. In order to participate attached waivers must be signed and returned either via email to childrens@riverforestlibrary.org or in person at least 5 days in advance of event. You will not be able to participate otherwise. A waiver is required for each participant. Please also view the attached clothing recommendations.

An adult caregiver MUST accompany children in the kayak. One adult and one child per kayak.

Accompanying Adults for Children's Programs

Children age 7 and younger must have a caregiver (age 12 or older) with them at all times while at the library, including during programs. Children may not be left unattended at the library unless they are age 8+.
