Program Description
In honor of the 100th Anniversary of the 19th Amendment, renowned history presenter Leslie Goddard explores the long struggle for women to gain the right to vote. From when the first call was issued at Seneca Falls in 1848 to when women finally gained suffrage in 1920, women worked tirelessly, giving speeches, writing letters and petitions, gathering signatures by the thousands, and persevering in the face of strident opposition. Brought to you in partnership with River Forest Township.
