Program Description

Join film historian Dr. Annette Bochenek for a multimedia presentation about the history of funny women in film, television, and radio, including Gracie Allen, Lucille Ball, Eve Arden, and more. Brought to you in partnership with the River Forest Township.

This event ties into River Forest Reads, a shared reading experience for members of the community to read and discuss the same book: When Franny Stands Up by Eden Robins, a novel about a comedienne in 1940s/1950s Chicago.
