Meet and Greet with artist Jenny Kelly

Meet local artist Jenny Kelly, whose work will be on display during the month of November. Head upstairs to chat with her and view her exhibit, which features her Chicago series. 

Here is her summary of the series: My Chicago series is a union between two of my favorite subjects on a canvas: cities and dogs. And unless you live under a rock or have never visited a big city, you know that dogs are permanent fixtures in most urban environments. They’re everywhere just as they should be. They make wherever they exist so much better….and definitely a lot more fun!

As for my love of painting cities, there is just something that pulls me in. Sometimes it’s a street corner, or perhaps the angle of a building, or the way the sun hits a window, or maybe graffiti on a sign. Sometimes it’s all those things, in addition to the people, always the people just going about their lives. It’s a slice of humanity and I just love it. Therefore, I paint it!
